CALL for APPLICANTS:

Ivy International Piano Competition
      Intermediate to Advanced pianists, ages 6-25, are invited to compete
      Categories: SOLO and DUET (1 piano, 4 hands). Applicants may enter both categories.

          ** APPLICATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 31st **

Date and Time: Saturday, August 10, 2019
Location: University of Maryland, Leah Smith Hall (College Park, MD)

Requirements:
1. Event is open to pianists between the ages of 6 and 25 (both US and International applicants accepted).
2. SOLO REQUIREMENTS: Two contrasting works, intermediate to early advanced, for ages 6-13, and up to 3 contrasting works for ages 14-25 may be performed. Original works (not transcriptions) are preferred. Works must be performed for memory. Repertoire is otherwise open.
3. DUET REQUIREMENTS: Any work for 1 piano, 4 hands. Although there is no time limit, judges reserve the right to stop a performance if the work exceeds 8 minutes.
4. In order to be considered, applicants must complete the application below and submit a video (or link to a YouTube or other video) of competition pieces.
   4. $45 application fee per category

Awards:
1. Performers receive points redeemable for Knabe Institute awards.
   2. Performers receive a Knabe Institute Certificate of Participation.
      3. Performers will receive comments from the judges
      4. Prizes include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize medals for each category + prize money (amount to be announced)
