About

Dr. Jarl Hulbert was a Knabe Institute founding member in 2016.  Previously coordinator of the William Kapell International Piano Competition, Dr. Hulbert has also been music faculty at the University of Maryland (College Park), St. Mary's College of Maryland, and West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  He is currently faculty at the Community College of Baltimore County.

Matthew Schweiger joined the Knabe Institute Board in 2023.  Currently a financial executive living in Southern California, Mr. Schweiger is also a musician who is familiar with Thomas Hulbert's life and works.

Irene Hulbert was a Knabe Institute founding member in 2016.  She is Executive Director and an instructor at Artist Music's White Marsh Academy, and she has served off stage as a major organizer at Knabe Institute events.

Sonja Rueckner joined the board of the Knabe Institute in 2023.  She is a graphic designer who created the Thomas F. Hulbert Institute's logo.  As Thomas F. Hulbert's youngest daughter, she is also familiar with his life and works.
