2016 Ivy International Grand Prize Piano Festival

August 8-14, 2016

CALL for APPLICANTS:


Event #2:  Ivy International Piano Competition
          Intermediate to Early Advanced pianists, ages 7-14, are invited to compete

          ** APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED!  PLEASE SUBMIT APPLICATION BY TUESDAY, AUGUST 9th **

         Date and Time: Friday, August 12th Preliminary Rounds & Saturday, August 13th Final Round
         Location: George Mason University, DeLaski Recital Hall (Fairfax, VA)

Requirements:
          1. Event is open to U.S. pianists between the ages of 7 and 14.
          2. One or two works, intermediate to early advanced, may be performed.  Repertoire is otherwise open. 
          3. In order to be considered, applicants must complete the application below and submit a video (or link to a YouTube or other video) of competition pieces.  With a teacher recommendation, the video requirement may be waived.
          4. $15 application fee

​Awards:
          1. Performers receive points redeemable for Knabe Institute awards.
          2. Performers receive a Knabe Institute Certificate of Participation.
          3. Performers will have their name and bio posted on the Knabe Institute website.
          4. Performers will receive comments from the judges
          5. Prizes include a $75 first prize, $50 second prize, and $30 third prize

Event #1:  US/China Cultural Exchange Recital
          Pianists, ages 7-14, are invited to submit an application to perform at the Ivy International Cultural Exchange Recital.

         Date and Time: Thursday, August 11th at 6:30pm
         Location: Leah Smith Hall at the University of Maryland, College Park, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center

Requirements:
          1. Event is open to U.S. pianists between the ages of 7 and 14.
          2. Applicant must be prepared to perform a work by an American composer (or an American-inspired work).  
          3. In order to be considered, applicants must complete the application below and submit a video (or link to a YouTube or other video) of performance piece).
          4. Application fee: None
          
5. Application deadline: August 3, 2016 (application deadline will be sooner if event fills before deadline)

Benefits:
          1. Performers receive points redeemable for Knabe Institute awards.
          2. Performers receive a Knabe Institute Certificate of Participation.
          3. Performers will have their name and bio posted on the Knabe Institute website.
          4. Performers will have the opportunity to interact and share with Chinese piano students visiting the United States for the first time.
 The recital will begin at 6:30pm.  Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to recital time.
